DANCE

DANCE at the Riverbrook Regional YMCA

The YMCA dance program is aimed at giving a good foundation of basic skills to beginner dancers. The focus is fun and camaraderie for all ages!

Music & Movement (age 18 – 36 months)

Toddlers (18-36mos), with their parent or caregiver, will listen to a story, sing, and move along to music, using egg shakers, rhythm sticks, scarves, colorful tunnel and more! Included in family membership. Registration required, $10 fee.

Ballet/Tap (age 4-8)
Students explore creative movement utilizing props such as tambourines, scarves, and hula hoops. Specific dance skills will be introduced as children become more coordinated.

Older students learn the importance of warming up and foundation work, conditioning, and stretching. Once the basic dance skills are mastered, simple choreography combinations are introduced. Preferred attire: Ballet & tap shoes, pink or black leotard, and pink tights.
