DANCE at the Riverbrook Regional YMCA
The YMCA dance program is aimed at giving a good foundation of basic skills to beginner dancers. The focus is fun and camaraderie for all ages!
Music & Movement (age 1-3)
Toddlers (18-36mos), with their parent or caregiver, will listen to a story, sing, and move along to music, using egg shakers, rhythm sticks, scarves, colorful tunnel and more!
Ballet/Tap (age 3-8)
Younger students aged 3-5 explore creative movement utilizing props such as tambourines, scarves, and hula hoops. Specific dance skills will be introduced as children become more coordinated.
Students aged 5-8 learn the importance of warming up and foundation work, conditioning, and stretching. Once the basic dance skills are mastered, simple choreography combinations are introduced. Preferred attire: Ballet & tap shoes, pink or black leotard, and pink tights.
