Wahoo Swim Team
WILTON Y WAHOOS SWIM TEAM
“Excellence in developing personal potential through swimming and providing a safe, healthy and positive environment for Wahoos”
WHO WE ARE
The Wilton Y Wahoos Swim Team is a year-round competitive swim team that provides a competitive, safe, skill-based environment for swimmers to reach their fullest potential, both in and out of the water. Swimmers aged 6-18 experience development and steady progression through the stages of competitive swimming with opportunities to compete at the regional, state, zone, and national level.
Developmental Program: Super Bronze and Super Squad
These introductory groups learn that swimming is fun! With a strong focus on team and skill acquisition, program participants are empowered to learn new swimming skills, try new events, cheer for their teammates, and work hard to achieve personal goals. Swimmers have the opportunity to compete at local meets, culminating with our YMCA State Championship and CT Regional Championships.
Age Group Program: Maroon and Gold
Our Age Group Program works to build swimmers into passionate competitors and lifelong swim fans. Age group swimmers work hard and play hard, and learn the importance of challenge, determination, and team. Higher level stroke and race technique is learned through energetic coaching and competition. Swimmers are introduced to aerobic and race-specific training. Swimmers participate locally in our YMCA State Championships and CT Regional/Age Group Championships, and at the Eastern Zone Championships (New York and Virginia) or ISCA Elite Showcase (Florida).
Senior Program: Junior, Pre-Senior, Senior, Senior Elite
Middle School and High School participants in our Senior Program build high level technique, racing, and competitive skills by building confidence, determination, and goalsetting. Swimmers learn to use their previous successes to set daily time and pace goals for them to reach for. Swimmers participate locally in our YMCA State Championships and CT Regional/Age Group/Senior Championships, Regionally at the Eastern Zone Championships (New York and Virginia) or ISCA Elite Showcase, and nationally at the YMCA National Championships and USA Swimming Junior/Senior National Championships.
