Y-FIT

Beginning July 1st the Wilton YMCA is introducing a six-week program for Y members ages 16 and older that’s designed to help them improve their health and wellness the RIGHT way.

Called Y-FIT, this complimentary program is being offered to all new Y members who have joined the Y in the past 30 days and will be ongoing. Current members are also welcome to take part in this program.

Over the six-week span, a Y Wellness Coach will take the member through a progressive program centered on nutrition, strength training, and cardiovascular health as well as stress management techniques. The goal is simple: to improve a participant’s overall health and wellness.

A full-body strength equipment orientation is included and performed on the first of the six appointments. The member will meet with his or her Wellness Coach once per week, by appointment. Each week is devoted to different tasks that the member is set up to complete between appointments.

With each appointment, the Wilton Y fitness staff are giving Y members the tools necessary to work out, eat healthier, reduce stress and ultimately lose weight on their own.

Is this six weeks of personal training? The answer is, ‘no,’ as we’re not taking a member through a specific workout. What our trained staff will do is share simple, gradual techniques to help you build a healthier you.  We’ll challenge new members physically, nutritionally and encourage them to make lifestyle changes that will help in their efforts to reduce body fat and promote lean muscle growth.”

For more information please contact Y Fitness Director,
Mary Ann Genuario, at 203-762-8384 x282.
