We never expect the impact that natural disasters have on us until we’re in the thick of it. The feelings, emotions, are overwhelming. The damage is indescribable. 

On August 18^th & 19^th, a historic storm and subsequent flood brought devastation and destruction across Southwest Connecticut and to our entire service area.  Our Wilton Family YMCA was not spared during this event.

The Heart of Your Community needs you more than ever. 

The Wilton Family Y facility and grounds including the pond and beach, pavilion, paddle courts, archery range, and Little League fields sustained extensive multi-million dollars’ worth of damage ($4.5M). The 50-meter pool was not spared from the historic flood. It is losing water, and we are working with professionals to investigate and provide us a timeline of when the pool will reopen. Our dedicated Wilton Y Wahoos coaching staff are collaborating with other aquatic centers to find temporary practice sites for our youth athletes.

We have an immediate need to Restore, Rebuild, and Recover so our Y will remain the heart of our community for our children, families, adults, and seniors.

In order to do this, we need to raise $1,000,000 by the end of 2024.

While we see catastrophic damage, we also see hope.  Our Y is overwhelmed with the outpouring of love and support from our community and neighbors.  While this time has been incredibly challenging for us all, we will get through this and emerge even stronger together.   

Our neighboring YMCAs in Darien, New Canaan, Greenwich, and Brookfield will welcome our members to visit their pools. They have graciously waived the eight visits allowance for reciprocity to our members. Please show proof of membership from our YMCA and a photo ID.
