**Common questions about our fitness programs**

**Q: I’m completely new to exercise. Will I feel comfortable here?**
A: Absolutely! The Y specializes in welcoming beginners. Our staff and members are incredibly supportive, and all our instructors provide modifications for every fitness level. We also offer beginner-specific classes, such as “Fit and Functional” and “Gentle Yoga.”

**Q: Can I try the facility before joining?**
A: Yes! We offer guest passes so you can experience our facilities and classes before committing. Contact Suma Iyer to arrange a tour and complimentary visit. siyer@riverbrookymca.org

**Q: What if I can’t make it to scheduled classes?**
A: No problem! Our fitness center is open for self-directed workouts. We also offer multiple class times throughout the week.

**Q: Do I need to bring my own equipment?**
A: Not for group classes – we provide all, weights, and equipment needed. For the fitness center, everything is provided. Just bring a water bottle, towel, your own mat if you prefer and your motivation!

**Q: What should I wear?**
A: Comfortable athletic clothing and supportive athletic shoes for most activities. For yoga classes, bare feet are preferred. 

**Q: Is there childcare available?**
A: We offer childcare during select group fitness classes for children 6 months to 11 years old. Advance sign up is required, and an additional fee applies. FREE with Family Membership.

**Q: Can I freeze my membership if I travel or get injured?**
A: Yes, we offer membership one to three month holds annually for extended travel, medical reasons, or other circumstances. Contact our membership team to discuss options. Molly Blosser at mblosser@riverbrookymca.org.

**Q: What’s the cancelation policy?**
A: We require 30 days written notice for membership cancellation. No long-term contracts – you can cancel anytime after your initial commitment period. Cancelation details >

**Q: Do you offer senior programs?**
A: Yes! We have several programs designed specifically for active adults 55+, including Silver Sneakers classes, chair exercises, and gentle water aerobics. Senior memberships are available at discounted rates.

**Q: Can I bring a friend to work out?**
A: Members receive guest passes annually. Your guests can also purchase day passes for $20. We often have “Bring a Friend Free” events throughout the year. Visit the Front Desk to pick up your guest passes (not all membership types receive passes).

The Fitness Center closes 15 minutes prior to closing time
Monday-Friday: 5:30am-9:00pm
Saturday: 6:00am – 5:00pm
Sunday: 7:00am – 5:00pm
