Need a little time for yourself while you’re at the YMCA? Our Child Watch Program provides a safe, caring, and engaging environment where your child can play, explore, and have fun while you enjoy your workout or YMCA activities.

Our experienced and nurturing staff take pride in providing attentive, loving care for every child, giving parents peace of mind while they make time for their own health and wellness.

Please note: Parents and guardians must remain on the Riverbrook Regional YMCA property (404 Danbury Road) at all times while their child is participating in Child Watch..

What to Expect

We provide a variety of age-·appropriate toys, games, activities, and equipment designed to keep children engaged and entertained during their visit.

Children can enjoy:

  • Free play and social interaction
  • Age-appropriate toys and activities
  • Creative play opportunities
  • A safe and welcoming environment

Older children are encouraged to bring books, quiet activities, or other entertainment from home if desired.

Important Information

To help ensure a positive experience for all families, please keep the following in mind:

  • Please label all cups, snack containers, and diaper bags with your child’s name.
  • Children will sanitize their hands upon arrival.
  • Parents or guardians will be contacted for diaper changes and toileting
  • Children may participate in Child Watch for up to 90 minutes per
  • Families are welcome to pack a snack. Please send peanut-free and tree nut-free foods only.

Before Your First Visit

To help us provide the best possible care, please complete the 
Child Watch Emergency Contact Info  prior to your child’s first visit.

We also encourage families to review our Child Watch Family Handbook for  complete program policies and procedures.

Child Watch Hours

    • Monday: 8am-12:30pm; 4-7pm
    • Tuesday: 8am-12:30pm; 4-7pm
    • Wednesday: 8am-11:30am; 4-7:30pm
    • Thursday: 8am-12:30pm; 4-7:30pm
    • Friday: 8am-12:30pm
    • Saturday: 8:30am-12:30pm
    • Sunday: 8:30am-12:30pm
 Ages: 8 weeks – 12 years old

• Please Note: For safety reasons, we reserve the right to limit attendance and ask members to wait if the room is full at the time of your arrival. Your child will be allowed in as soon as there is room.

Child Watch Fees

Adult YMCA Members may utilize Child Watch for additional fees based on the number of children.

Payment should be made at the Front Desk prior to drop-off. Please bring your receipt to the Child Watch staff upon arrival.

Eligibility

Child Watch is available for eligible YMCA members. Please note that Child Watch is not available for:

  • Non-members
  • SilverSneakers members
  • Renew Active participants
  • Reciprocal YMCA members

At the YMCA, we believe that caring for yourself is an important part of caring for your family. Child Watch helps parents and caregivers take advantage of the YMCA’s programs and facilities while knowing their children are in a safe, supervised, and nurturing environment.
