Youth Programs

The Annual Campaign provides access and scholarships for the myriad of programming that the YMCA offers. From Preschool to swimming lessons and more! A core focus of the Y Mission is Youth Development. We serve the youth in our community by offering programs that enrich, strengthen and foster confidence. We believe all youth should have the opportunity to benefit from our programs.

Summer Camp

The Annual Campaign provides access to the YMCA Summer Camps that serve youth of all ages. A camp experience fosters independence, resilience, persistence, confidence, community, and deep social connections. In a recent national survey, 96% of campers reported that camp helped them make new friends, 92% said that camp helped them feel better about themselves, and 74% said that camp helped them try activities they were initially afraid to do. It also provides families with quality childcare during the summer months. Something working families sometimes struggle to afford or access. The Annual Campaign makes this support possible.

Special Needs

The Annual Campaign provides access to our Special Needs programs which have a significant positive impact on students with disabilities, offering them opportunities to learn and succeed in education and sports. These programs provide individualized support, ensuring that students receive appropriate resources to thrive. They can also play a crucial role in preparing students for adult life, including college, vocational programs, and independent living. 

Senior Wellness

The Annual Campaign provides access to the YMCA Senior programs. These significantly impact the lives of older adults by promoting physical and mental well-being, reducing social isolation, and improving quality of life. These programs offer opportunities for social interaction, cognitive stimulation, and physical activity, which can lead to improved health outcomes and a greater sense of purpose. 

General Fund

One in ten children, adults and families need financial assistance to benefit from the Y’s programs and facilities. The Annual Campaign provides critical support to our community. The YMCA is continuously adapting to meet the evolving needs of our service area which includes Wilton, Redding and Norwalk. Through comprehensive community assessments, partnerships, and innovative programming, we aim to serve every individual and family as fully as we can. The YMCA’s Annual Campaign supports this effort so that all individuals have the opportunity to reach their full potential.
